My name is Michiel, online better known as MickeyByte. I’m a husband and father of 2 kids and an all-round IT professional currently focusing on (cloud) virtualization and end-user-computing.
I graduated in 1999 and started programming to solve Year-2000 bugs and €-adjustments but quickly moved to the infrastructure side and started to install and maintain windows based networks and later on focused on virtualization. Of course I also like to manage some basic linux based servers from time to time.
The first 10 years of my career I worked as a consultant for multiple companies, after which I moved on to a fixed position at public and private companies. Currently I’m working as an End-User-Computing Consultant at ITQ.
I’ve been a vExpert End-User Computing since 2020. If you want to know more about the vExpert program, read my posts on Why and how I became a VMware vExpert.
Just for fun I also create and maintain some small websites and I like some small development projects from time to time.
Between all that IT work I also try to play the accordion sometimes for our local folk dance group De Hovelingen-Viking.
